Tiny teams (5–10 people) can build multi-billion dollar companies, as demonstrated historically by Minecraft, not just as a future AI phenomenon.

Stripe's internal AI knowledge tool Kai was built by only two people in approximately six months.

“We built it I don't know maybe 6 months ago, two people built it.”

Minecraft was built by roughly five to ten people when it was acquired for billions by Microsoft, making it a historical precedent for a tiny-team multi-billion dollar company, not a future AI phenomenon.

“Minecraft was like what was it five people 10 people when it was bought for billions of dollars by Microsoft. People keep talking about someday there will be like a multi-billion dollar single person company. That was basically Minecraft roughly. It already happened like 15 years ago or whenever that was.”

It is unlikely that many more trillion-dollar companies will be formed in the next three to five years; at most one might emerge.

“It's unlikely that we'll see that many more in the next three to five years. I mean, there's one I can think of that could maybe get there, but not multiple.”

With AI, two or three people can now build software that five years ago would have cost $2-3 million per year and that companies would not have built at all.

“I have two or three people who are building software that I would say 5 years ago we would have spent maybe two or three million dollars a year building this.”

Employees at large companies are using Lovable to build side hustles that reach hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue, and then become founders.

“If someone who discovers Lovable from their colleagues at the large company, they go out and then run a side hustle. And some of those side hustles really work. They make hundreds of thousands of dollars and then they become a founder after that.”
